Serving

Columbia Hope Church intends to serve our community in a variety of ways. Our service will be a tangible sign of Jesus Christ’s love for all of humanity and indeed the whole creation.  While displaying Christ’s love, our service will be an end in itself; it will not be done for the purpose of conversion.
Church members will be involved in local outreach or inreach projects; they will participate in diocesan projects and ministries; they will send money to assist in charitable organizations statewide and nationwide, and they will be involved in short-term, international mission trips and projects in developing countries.  Seeing our work benefit others and positively impact peoples’ lives will be gratifying, but most of all we will see changes in ourselves.  As we extend ourselves to assist others, we will grow in our understanding of injustice and its cure, strive to undo “isms” (such as racism or classism) that hinder us daily, experience the Christ in others, and receive God’s grace.
